The world is quite funny. And we come across many people who shock you who amuse you who puzzle you. And yesterday..I experienced these three feelings (amused+shocked+puzzled) in one go.. Let me share with you an incident which happened yesterday on the bus on my way to a village to attend one of my friends marriage. My friend Ajay and I were in our seats talking leisurely. Suddenly, a lady trespassed into our conversation and said (its more like demanding)
”Koncham levochhu kada..ikkada okaamey valla papani etthukuni nilabidindi”.
I was ashamed of myself for being oblivious of my surroundings, though i sat in the male-row.I should have observed before. I rose and gave the other lady my seat. She sat with her baby. I felt much better. A few seconds later, the lady who talked to me about the seat also sat in that strict-two-seater .Now the total count on the seat became four.Ajay,two ladies and the little girl.
I was standing and just a few seconds later, I noticed that the seats reserved for the ladies were occupied by the fellow gentlemen. Atleast two three-seaters were found in that mode. Finding the yellow paint on the back of those seats ,I confirmed they were the seats exclusive for the ladies.. Then, I rehearsed for 5 to 6 times what to say to that lady-who-negotiated-seat-of-mine …. and here goes the brief conversation :
I delivered my dialogue “meeru akkada comfortablegaa koorchovadam kashtam.ee rendu rows ladies seats.vaallani adagandi levamani “
She blurted in a nanosecond “ vaallu koorchunnaaru kada? “
“ !!!???% @###*%**&&$$$$”
It took almost 2 to 3 minutes to come out of that shock. I was numb. After a while I started pondering about what she said. “vaallu kurchunnaru kada?” was her answer. Then what I was doing .She didnt even ask those ladies-seats-invaders but she demanded mine.. Hmm….things happen :-)
